With Belgium winning the fourth gold on offer. Korea won golds in the M-73kg and W-59kg and Iran took gold in the M-73kg and W-63kg. Turkey, Great Britain, France and Iran won silvers. The day’s action saw competition across the M-63kg, W-55kg and M-68kg. Iran took gold in the M-63kg with Uzbekistan winning silver and Greece and Korea taking bronze. In the W-55kg, Korea won gold, Greece silver, and Croatia and Norway took bronze. The M-55kg was the first of the day’s finals as Euijun Hong of Korea faced the USA’s William Cunningham. Hong was too strong for Cunningham and won the match 2-0. The first final of the night drew Abolfazl Zandi from Iran against Pornpawit Toruen from Thailand in the M-48kg. The opening round set the tone for what would be a breathless and highly competitive match. With both fighters landing a number of head kicks the round finished 15-12 to Zandi. [NBC-1TV 깅릉특파원 김성택] 26일, '영월 동강국제사진제(이하 사진제)'를 다녀왔다. 7월 22일 부터 10월 9일까지 열리는 사진제는 지난 2008년 강원도 사진가 공모전에 선정되어 초대전을 한 후 올해로 제20회를 맞았다. 동강국제사진제를 통해 최근 세계 사진예술의 경향과 새로운 이슈들을 직접 눈으로 보고 마음으로 느끼려고 교통이 불편한 오지 임에도 불구하고 길을 나섰다. 기대가 컸던 탓일까? 예상외로 썰렁한 분위기다. 국내 수상작은 작품 기준인지 사람 기준인지 알 수 없었고, 선정된 작가의 작품은 세 가지 장르로 사진을 펼쳐 놓아 관람객의 시선에 집중도를 떨어 뜨렸다. 더우기 전시된 상당 수 작품들은 5.18광주 사태와 소위 길거리 시위 투쟁을 기자의 관점에서 찍은 리얼한 장면들로 순수 현대사진예술에 기대를 걸었던 나로서는 몹시 불편한 관람이었다. 회수가 거듭 될수록 오히려 점점 빈약해져가는 동강국제사진제 운영 모습은 왜일까? 순수하게 사진을 사랑하는 사진가의 한 사람으로서 매우 안타깝고 속상했다. 그나마 근대사진을 대표하는 F64 그룹 멤버 11명의 작품 130여점을 만날 수 있어 다행이었다. 강원도 사진가 작품 전시도 참신했다. 이곳 영월
