[By WTF/NBC-1TV H. J Yook]Serbia grabbed two tickets to the taekwondo competition of the 2012 London Olympic Games on the second day of the three-day European Qualfication Tournament in Kazan, Russia on Jan. 28, 2012. For Serbia, the London Olympics will be its first Olympic taekwondo debut.
Seven other countries - Italy, Turkey, Finland, Poland, France, Ukraine and Slovenia - clinched one Olympic ticket each on the second day of qualification tournament, which featured three weight categories: the women's -57kg, the men's -68kg and the men's +80kg.
Serbia's Damir Fejzic defeated his Polish final-match opponent, Michal Loniewski, to win the gold medal in the men’s -68kg division. Dragana Gladovic of Serbia beat Suvi Mikkonen of Finland for the first place in the women’s -57kg division.
Bahri Tanrikulu of Turkey, who took the first place in the men’s over 80kg division by beating Italy's Carlo Molfetta, is to compete for top honors in the taekwondo competition of the London Olympic Games for the third consecutive time. He won the silver medal in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
