[By NBC-1TV H. J Yook]Mavenir Systems (www.mavenir.com) (NYSE: MVNR) today announced that it had provided its WebRTC Gateway to T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT), Croatia's largest telecommunications company and a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, as part of the TeraStream[1] project.

Mavenir’s WebRTC Gateway has been delivered as a virtualized solution into the T-HT data center, which enables seamless interworking with their multi-vendor IMS network from mobile or wired devices. The gateway acts as a bridge between IMS-based services (voice, video and messaging) and the WebRTC-enabled browser applications. The ubiquitous nature of the web translates into service ubiquity for the IMS subscriber.

Mavenir’s client expertise and user experience centre in Zagreb (http://goo.gl/uZEX3w) has engaged with T-HT to identify and prototype innovative user experiences and use cases that mash up WebRTC browser access with IMS network capabilities. Mavenir is also providing a web-based client strategy that allows for deployment simplicity, central management and control of features and user experience. WebRTC applications have been rapidly developed using HTML5 and leveraging the IMS REST APIs.

“Providing data center and networking capability that is used in the TeraStream architecture for a wide range of applications/capabilities (in this case, with Mavenir) is part of the TeraStream concept pilot network that T-HT is running,” said Nenad Silbar, head of core network planning department at T-HT and TeraStream pilot lead. “With Mavenir’s WebRTC capabilities and support, we are exploring exciting new use cases through the integration of existing services in a web environment which will enrich those services or allow innovation of new services. One possible example of such integration is the enhancement of e-learning service (IP TV based) with voice/video capabilities which gives a new interactive flavor.”
