Taekwondo Promotion Foundation(Chairman, Dr Lee Dai - Soon) promoting to build The Taekwondo Park, in Muju, Korea where 188 member nation's 70 million practitioners come to train and might be representative Korean cultural brand announced the prize winner, Weiss & Manfredi by The Taekwondo Park Master Plan International Invitational Competition.

The Taekwondo Park Master Plan International Invitational Competition ran over 11 weeks from May inviting 7 prominent architects ; Chul Kong, Young Joon Kim, Junsung Kim, Sung-Yong Joh, Andres Perea Grtega, Diller Scofidio+Renfro and Weiss & Manfredi.

Jury committee composed of 5 juries, In Cheurl Kim, Seung Hong Park, Hyung Min Pai, Simone Carena and Richard England have chosen 3 prizewinning works which are Weiss & Manfredi(USA) "Body, Mind and Spirit"(1st winner), Sung-Yong Joh(Korea) "Power's hill(2nd winner), and Chul Kong "Old Wisdom"(3rd winner)

Prizewinning work is inspired by the rich spirit of Korea's artistic, architectural and landscape design legacy. Topography and watershed of the site comprise an integral part of the main BAEK-DU-DAE-GAN crest line and the figure of the tiger embodies the dynamic character of the geography.

Six bridges, an ascending route means the Taekwondo belt's color and links from the spectacle of the arena to the solitude of the uppermost water terraces. It is also created to be nature friendly to be harmonized with human. This is highly valuated by jury committee.

The Taekwondo Park, total area of 2,314,049㎡, facilities are Taekwondo arena, research institute, Taekwonjeon, Myungingwan, training institute, exhibition hall, youth hostel and etc, would be completed in 2013 after starting work in 2009.
